| We produced this frame in 2001 for a Lucy Mae Stanton painting which was to be on exhibit at the Georgia Museum of Art, Athens. It is a modified 22k gold Whistler design with a black patina cove liner and a gold baguette inner lip. The whole frame is about 6" wide, the painting is 50 x 31
inches. The inset shows a detail of the corner straps and the black clay bole showing through the rubbed gold. This painting will be on exhibit at the Concord Art Association, Concord, MA in October - November, 2002. |
 | Three side tables with 2" thick cherry tops and hand carved arches
underneath. The legs are of maple with green painted twisting bevels made to resemble leaves of grass. The legs are joined to the tops with wedged through mortises. The finish on the top is polyurethane for heavy use and alcohol resistance while the finish on the legs is sprayed shellac. |
 | ACRYLIC BOWL STAND This solid acrylic stand is made for a hand turned bowl that is thin enough to be translucent. When placed before a window, the bowl will show vivid colors in its grain. For this reason, the stand is designed to not cast a shadow on the back of the bowl. |
 | FEATHERS IN A SHADOWBOX These Argus Pheasant feathers are preserved in this cherry shadowbox frame with a support board of warm gray linen. It is secured to the support with
reversible mounts of polyester thread around the rachis so as not to disturb the vane. The frame is washed with black japan color and rubbed through to achieve a fairly high sheen, then polished with wax. The rich red/brown colors in the tips of the feathers are accented in the cherry wood showing through the black paint. |
| This is an authentic reproduction of an early 19th century Thomas Sully frame with spandrel in 22karat gold. The painting is believed to hail from northern New York, so we matched the frame finish to some known Sully style frames of that provenance . |
